Andrew Garr, Program Director at Milkweed Alliance which oversees the Kaleidoscope Peer Recovery Center, will speak to us about the need for addressing mental illness in our community. The Kaleidoscope Peer Recovery Center is a drop-in center located just south of the Menomonie Market.

January 4th

Kat Brogan, of The Bridge, a domestic abuse shelter in Menomonie, will inform us about human trafficking in our area.

January 19th

Nora Jean, local singer and songwriter, will present a short concert of old music from America’s past and her own compositions. Nora Jean plays guitar and mandoline and has been performing and touring most of her life. Her music is eclectic and personal.

February 1st

Ann Vogl, owner of Dragontales Bookstore in Menomonie, and retiree and local resident, Martha Wollan, will give us their perspectives on recycling in Menomonie and how we can do more to reuse and recycle.  Ann Vogl is passionate about this subject, and one can often find Martha Wollan at the Menomonie Dump assisting the staff in recycling.

The Unitarian Society of Menomonie is a liberal religious community whose roots originate in the 19th century in Menomonie. USM is a member of the greater global Unitarian Universalist Association. We are actively involved with the Menomonie Area Mission Coalition, a coalition of local churches, and JONAH (Joining Our Neighbors Advancing Hope), a social action agency.
